"Betty" 84, passed February 4, 2011 at the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late John P. Duffy.
Born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late John C. and Margaret (Carlin) Ryan.
She had been a manager for New England Telephone for over 30 years before retiring. Betty was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, while residing most of her life in Pawtucket she also lived 26 years in Narragansett and was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Ladies Club and Great Island Association,
She is survived by a daughter, Maryann D. Allard of Lincoln, two sisters Margaret Coleman of Narragansett and Regina Melia of Punta Gorda, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 am. from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence at 9 am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Tuesday from 3 to 7pm. There will also be a memorial mass on Friday February 11, 2011 at 10 am. In St. Mary Star of The Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd Narragansett. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to SCU Unit of the St Antoine's Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield 02896 or St Edwards Food and Wellness Center, 997 Branch Ave. Providence RI, 02904.
